The Winona Knitters Make More Sweaters and Hats for Syrian Refugees

From Margaret in Minnesota: Collected all our sweaters and hats this afternoon. Must be about 40 sweaters and even more hats. Lots of smiles. The tags read “Given with love and care for you and your family” in English and Arabic.

The Winona Knitters are sort of our sister knitting group in Minnesota, and where Margaret knits when she isn't out here with us. These baby garments are headed to the Salaam Cultural Museum in Seattle, which ships a couple of huge containers a year to a Syrian refugee camp in Jordan. 

Helping Syrian Refugees

Here is the Winona, Minnesota knitters group that Margaret (our snow bird) knits with when she is at home up north.  They got together after Margaret returned from Las Cruces and told friends that Kathy D. and several members from our group were knitting baby clothes for Syrian refugees living in an enormous camp in Jordan.  The Salaam Cultural Museum in Seattle ships donated clothing and humanitarian goods twice a year.  This was the January collection for mailing from Winona to Seattle and on to Jordan.  

Everyone involved agrees than it's a small thing, but it feels good to be doing something positive.
